new friends

Pamella, Pernilla's new Ugandan twin sister!

More games, more fun!

These will be everlasting memories in the minds of the children.

A great week with our friends from Gothenburg, Sweden

The kids really enjoyed the fun day...Mwakoze cyane!!!

Jackie has finished her first year at the vocational training school where she is studying tailoring with support from FALCCO. She now is preparing for the second and last year. Here she is, smart in the attire that she designed herself!

Night Mujawimana, a Falcco caregiver, stands with her goat provided under the goat distribution programme.

Economic empowerment of households.

This is Peace Tushime, a mother of 5. Her husband dissappeared under mysterious circumstances 7 years ago and she lives with the pain and uncertainity of not knowing whether he is alive or dead. Her challenge is compounded by the hardship of having to take care and educate her 5 children without a job. The stress has affected her health but the situation is being controlled by the doctors.

FALCCO volunteers have been visiting her and offering psycho-social support and some domestic necessities. One of her children, Nsabimana Godson, is registered with us and is also still in need of a sponsor for full educational support.
She is pictured here with a goat that she received from our goat distribution project.
This project was started in 2011 in partnership with Miss Maureen Inglefield from the UK. We bought two goats for the first two families and, as they reproduce, they will rotate among all the 20 families.
Keeping domestic animals at home is one of the best ways that rural families generate wealth. We believe that as each family gets a goat, they will be able to sell some as they increase and supplement on their incomes.

Jacky is back to school

Jacky in her classroom. We are determined to see her through the 1 year tailoring course. she had lost hope for a bright future but, thanks to our partners, she now has a new smile.

Empowering the girl child.

This is Jackyline Munezero, aged 17, a total orphan living with her two brothers; Gideon and Emmanuel. She dropped out of school in 2009 after completing her P6. When FALCCO first met this family, they had an elder sister who tried to assist in taking care of them. However, recently she got married and left for Kampala. Their elder brother now has to struggle taking care of them using his meagre income from boda-boda riding. We soon realized that if nothing is done to give Jacky a skill for self sustainability, she may end up in an early and unwanted marriage with its accompanying problems.
FALCCO has decided to enroll her for a tailoring course.
This is part of our commitment to DEVELOP THE CHILD, EMPOWER THE HOUSEHOLD, TRANSFORM THE COMMUNITY.  You may want to join us to provide vocational training to Jacky, assist the family with domestic recquirements every month, and ultimately transform and empower them to be community changers. Fun times

Sweet laughter despite...
These are part of the over 30 children that came to have fun and interact with our visitors from Sweden. we shared a soda and biscuits with them and the whole village buzzed with the news. Our visitors, Linda and Elin, also had time to give a brief talk to the parents and guardians on good parenting practices.

FALCCO was blessed to host you!

Papa Dick and Mama Frank, both FALCCO board members, hosted Hellena, Sandra and Jennifer at their home on our behalf. The ladies found a home away from home! That was march 2012. We took them to the communities and they interacted closely with our beneficiary families. Our caregivers and children were blessed by their love and encouragement and they too got a first-hand experience of life in rural Uganda.
God bless you ladies.
